Gallery home : CLIENTS PONDS : POND 5

This pond was a pleasure to be involved with. Planning was good and the clients went out of their way to understand and commit to a superior outcome. The result is a beautiful pond of 30,000litres crystal clear water, minimum maintenance and happy clients. One of the best mid sized ponds I have seen.

Ok guys what's funny! "Oh we just found out what's going to happen to us if we drop this piece of acrylic window".

Fibreglassing finished and just cleaning up around the bottom drain. This will remove fish waste by a 100mm pipe to the filtration chambers. This si the lowest point in the pond.

I could not resist this photo. Each time I turned up to check on progress I asked for more sand to be removed to increase depth. It was summer and the sand was removed by hand! He called for a glass of red and got 2 grapes instead. Yes it was a hard school!

Window is in and supported until the glue goes off. Back wall is finished with granite cladding and wave blade is ready to run.

A simple view of the filtration chambers. Looks easy.... but get this wrong and wear the consequences. Note 55watt UV and vortex on the right, fed via 100mm pipe from the skimmer box

Hole dug and the client has lost 6 kilos! Yes all 243 wheel barrow loads of good on yer W.A. sand.

Concrete truck arrives. This is the point when you find out who your real mates are! No, I was only supervising.

Starting to lay the concrete. Note the slope towards the bottom drain with a flat 'collar' around the top to make life easy to lay the bricks. Oh yeh, you can think ahead or tramp grapes!

My reliable granno finishing off another success story.

Walls go up

Walls almost complete

Yes it is a family effort; even Mum gets a break from making the coffee. Don't think she realised what she was letting herself in for. Bucketing in a concrete slurry to the cavity
